Day 1 Thur. Arrive Perth, Perth Sightseeing.  passengers are met on arrival at Perth Airport. Take an afternoon tour of the sights of this unique and beautiful city, including Kings Park – 400 hectares of delightful gardens.Situated only a few minutes from the centre of Perth, Kings Park features sweeping parklands, botanic gardens, native bushland and, in spring, a spectacular display of more than 1700 native species of wildflowers.

Day 2 Fri. York, Wave Rock, Wildflower Country.

This morning travel to York. Admire the town’s well preserved historic buildings. Take in magnificent wildflower country. Marvel at the natural wonder of Wave Rock, a 2.7-billion-year-old piece of granite that looks like a giant wave frozen in time.

Day 3 Sat. Stirling Ranges.

Today we travel to Stirling Range National Park for a truly unforgettable wildflower experience. Home to 1500 species of plants, 87 of which are found nowhere else, the Stirling Ranges feature the famous ‘Darwinia’ mountain bells and 123 orchid species. See tiny spider orchids, banksia and acacia. Stirling Range National Park covers more than 115,000 hectares and is renowned for its wildflowers and beauty.

Day 4 Sun. Albany sightseeing.

Tour Australia’s whaling capital today, Albany. Admire the region’s amazing coastal vegetation. Visit Old Farm at Strawberry Hill, Mt Romance Bodycare Factory and fascinating Banksia Farm.

Day 5 Mon. Karri Timber Forests.

Today, take the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. At Gloucester National Park see the 60-metre tall Gloucester Tree. This karri tree towers over the surrounding forest, was chosen as a fire lookout in 1947. No longer used as a lookout, today visitors can climb to the tree’s cabin for spectacular views of the surrounding karri forest. Then enjoy a pretty wildflower walk and take the King Jarrah Heritage Trail to a jarrah tree that is over 1200 years old. Keep a look out for the vast array of plant species including delicate orchids, brilliant coral peas and honey-scented white clematis that can be found in among the enormous and ancient king jarrah trees.

Day 6 Tue. Private Country Gardens, Voyager Estate Winery.

There are interesting private country garden visits today. Meet the owners to glean new ideas. Visit Voyager Estate Winery and its grand Cape Dutch ‘werf’ garden. Stroll the werf’s paths, past whitewashed walls, among flowerbeds and under shady trees. See the two rose gardens which feature 1600 roses, including varieties such as Prospero, Victoriana and Lavender Pinocchio as well as popular names such as Just Joey and Angel Face. We then visit Leeuwin Winery.

Day 7 Wed. Margaret River, Merribrook Estate, Perth.

Visit Merribrook Estate, a 64-hectare natural estate which features abundant wildlife and 32 hectares of protected virgin forest. Explore the estate’s lake side gardens and magnificent scented landscaped gardens which were selected as part of the prestigious Australia’s Open Garden Scheme. Visit a private garden en route to Perth.

Day 8 Thur. Private Gardens, Perth.

Enjoy private garden visits, meeting garden owners. Visit Araluen Gardens, famous for its springtime tulips and the Grove of the Unforgotten, planted in memory of the Young Australia League members killed in World War I.

Day 9 Fri. Fremantle, Perth.

Cruise the Swan River past exclusive homes and gardens. Spend time exploring historic Fremantle. This afternoon enjoy the Wildflower Festival at Kings Park. The annual Kings Park Wildflower Festival showcases the best of Western Australia’s wildflower varieties.
